Kathleen Landis performs "While We're Young: A Tribute to Alec Wilder," a collection of cabaret and classical compositions written and influenced by Wilder. Landis broke the mold of female singers who acted as stand-up vocalists, and helped establish female pianist/singers as serious musicians in a male-dominated field.
In participation with Woman’s History Month hosts, Landis will present an afternoon lecture- demonstration (12:15–1:30 p.m.) "The Art of Song, Women in Jazz," a discussion of the art movements relationship to music and her 2- plus year experience at New York’s Fifth Avenue Café Pierre.
