Lecturer: French Horn

Sheryl Hadeka is excited to be joining as Lecturer of Horn at SUNY Buffalo State in the Fall of 2016 alongside starting her first season as Second Horn with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Ms. Hadeka grew up in Vermont and completed her Bachelor’s degree at the Eastman School of Music studying with W. Peter Kurau. She then completed her Master’s degree at Southern Methodist University under the tutelage of Gregory Hustis.
Ms. Hadeka most recently held the position of Associate Principal Horn for two seasons in the Omaha Symphony. She has formerly been a member of the New Mexico Philharmonic, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Santa Fe Symphony and Louisiana Philharmonic. Sheryl Hadeka has performed extra with the Dallas Symphony, San Antonio Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, New World Symphony, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. She has also attended summer festivals such as Music in the Mountains, Lake George Music Festival, Sarasota Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Spoleto Festival, and Lucerne Festival Academy. Ms. Hadeka was also the University Division Concerto Competition winner at the 2008 Northeast Horn Workshop.
Alongside performing, Ms. Hadeka has taught at Loyola University New Orleans and the University of Nebraska in Omaha. She was also the Library Apprentice at the Santa Fe Opera in the summer of 2016.
