Music Major for a Day is an in-person event for high school and community college students. 

Program Opportunities

  • Observe classes and workshops
  • Interact with Buffalo State music faculty and students
  • Ask questions related to college and music admissions
  • Observe masterclasses and ensemble rehearsals
  • Participate in a discussion with current music majors

9 - 11 am Shadow Classes (Aural Perceptions/Composition, Improv, and Arranging)
11 am - 12 pm Pizza Lunch
12 pm - 1 pm Instrumental Masterclass or Chamber Choir
1 pm - 2 pm Admissions and Department Informational Meeting
2 pm - 2:45 pm Wind Ensemble or Vocal Masterclass
2:45 pm Closing Remarks
